The face is the part of our body, by which we recognize others, read their emotions, and pass judgment on their character. So what happens, if you hide it from sight? And what happens, if you do so tastefully?
NOFACE shows fashion, which covers the face, disabling the audience from relating to the subject and it has fun while doing so. The person wearing the garment is designed out of the picture and becomes unknowable. Still present, but separated from the viewer by lace, pearls, and brocade. this inability to identify is used aesthetically. Emotion is part of the Design, creating beauty through suspense and uneasiness.
By mimicking traditional garments with a fictional pseudo-ethnic clothing style, NOFACE further removes itself from the viewer's everyday experience. It is a fun psychological experiment or an intense aesthetic experience.
